Decide whether to use the feature that allows end users to log in to Horizon Client and their remote desktop as the currently logged in user.Verify that the Windows Automatic Update feature is not turned off on the client computer.For more information, see Using Group Policy Settings to Configure Horizon Client. If you use group policy to disable USB redirection, you do not need to reinstall Horizon Client if you later decide to enable USB redirection for a client.
If access is not permitted, either do not install the USB Redirection component, or install the component and disable it by using a group policy setting.
Determine whether the person who uses the client device is allowed to access locally connected USB devices from a remote desktop. If you plan to install the USB Redirection component, perform the following tasks:. In general most laptops that are less than 4 years old will run the VDI client without an issue. VDI requires a modern laptop, PC, or tablet. Once you have rebooted, follow the linked instructions to log in to VDI with 2-Step Verification (2SV). You will be prompted to restart your computer, click “Restart Now”. Once the installation completes, click on the Finish button. A normal application install window will appear. If a “Security Warning” window appears, click on the “Run” or “Yes” button. Double click on the VMware Horizon Client. Download the VMware Horizon Client installer by clicking here. NOTE: Installing this application requires a reboot of your laptop or PC.
